Expand your ability to communicate successfully in French by discussing your past experiences and future plans including career choices; learn how to make suggestions and recommendations, agree and disagree with others, and express your emotions. Compare holidays and celebrations in the U.S. to those in the French-speaking world. Compare traditional to contemporary life in Belgium, Switzerland, Sénégal, Morocco, the Central African Republic, Tunisia, French Canada, Guadeloupe, and Louisiana, via video and the internet. The course increases proficiency in listening, speaking, reading and writing in French. Regional specialties, environmental issues, fashion, television programming, and the Cajuns are the major cultural topics in this course.
